-Our trail riding is NOT following the leader, it is Open trail riding. The horses ride side by side, in a natural group. This allows us to ride to the level of our rider, whether it's a walk, trot, or canter. We specialize in small semi private, or private trail.
-An up to 30 minute warm-up period, with guides instructing. This time allows riders to feel comfortable communicating with their animals prior to heading out to trail.
-We have horses of all different levels, and all different breeds, including Gaited horses and Arabians.

-We cater to; the beginner rider, who has never ridden a horse before, and also to the rider who is just getting back into riding, seasoned riders, or rides frequently. We ride both English and Western.
  - Had a horrible riding experience, but want to ride again? No problem, some of our best reviews come from clients in your same boat!
We'll give you an authentic Texas ride, back to a simpler time!

Why do we not offer 1 hour trails?
Because of our unique open style of riding, the fact that we do not have to stay at a walk, and the instructional warm-up, our riders have overwhelmingly told us they wished they had booked a 2 hour. So this is now what we offer! This includes children 6yrs & up.

Our Trail hours are good forever! They are the purchaser's to use for ride time at their discretion. We do not put an expiration date on them, and they hold full value forever. Take your time booking, gift them to someone special, or reschedule if the time isn't right, we'll still honor them. Please refer to safety information, in case we need to add additional accommodations to the ride.

Our trails include:

- always includes a free up to 30 minutes in the arena. This allows our riders to not only get used to the horse they are riding, it allows us to help them with any riding skills they may need.  We do not have a maximum amount of hours.  Please remember to add the free 30 minutes to the hour. We can ride for up to 6 hrs, at all gaits, without doubling back.

  - -Many couples/riding parties have a mix of beginner, and more experienced riders. This is not a problem. Our guides, at certain points of the trail, can walk/jog with the beginner/novice rider further up the trail. Our more experienced rider then holds back with a guide, allowing them to canter/lope up to the other rider. This allows both riders to ride to their preferred level on trail, in a relaxed setting.

  - For children under 9 yrs old, the trail guide may possibly pony their horse on trail. This technique includes the trail guide with a rope that is attached to the child's horse.  This allows the child to ride to their ability while still allowing their trail guide to have control of their horse.  We do not allow parents to ride double with their children.

Need to know

- Our "step up" horses, for seasoned riders are the horses we regularly ride as our lead horses. They are categorized this because they are more advanced level training, have lighter cues, and have naturally faster gaits (there's a good chance, if you're American, and didn't understand that last sentence, you're not a seasoned rider). If a novice "clamps down" on a above novice horse, it is going to comply and move out faster, immediately. We spend A LOT of time making sure we can offer a highly trained horse, that is extremely solid on trail, to our upper level riders.
*A seasoned rider has ridden recently for years, consistently, they are past the point of needing lessons in their discipline, or is/was a horse owner recently. If you have only ridden mostly follow the leader trails, you are not a seasoned rider.
**If the rider is from out of this country, and rides, there's an excellent chance you are able to ride one of our "step up" horses. If you want to ride one of our Arabs, they are so light, you need to be  advanced. Please call, text, or e mail us & we'll be happy to make sure you are well matched.

Things you need to contact us about before you book any Trails:
Safety of the rider and horse will always be our top priority!
 -  Weight over 200#. We to be able to make sure the correct horse is available for that particular trail, & not already booked. This needs to be determined on a case by case rider.  We need to know, prior to booking.
 - If you don't speak English for any reason. Obviously there is a communication gap at this juncture, even with an interpreter. We need to be able to ensure the correct guides can be on the ride. Definitely call us first.
Riders 8yrs old or younger. This is for the enjoyment of the child. Once again, other factors will come into play on this situation. We can accommodate younger riders with no experience riding, but will need the booking rider to make contact with us; prior to booking.

 - Please note: you are booking a time slot.  Since we turn away other paying riders for that slot, the payment is non refundable for late cancellations or no show riders. If riders do not show up, or are more than 15 minutes late, it will not be refundable.
